THE POLLY POCKET DESTRUCTION
For those who don't know, Wendy, Janesh, Ivan and I are going to England from the 13th-24th, and spending the 17th-19th in Paris. We'll be staying in Peterborough ,Cambridgeshire with my aunt, uncle and cousin. It's 45 min to London by train, about the same time from my place to Pasir Ris. Unlike the ride to Pasir Ris, it'll cost us average £20, about S$60, for a train ride in. So we researched like hell and found something called GroupSave which does exactly what it says, but comes with combos that go:
"GroupSave is valid on Cheap Day Returns for return travel on the same day, where available.
GroupSave is also valid on Savers for return within one calendar month, where available."
And then they leave you wondering what is Cheap Day Returns and Savers and how exactly both can be used at the same time. I google it, and I realise there's more to this than it looks. That there are actually more than one type of Cheap Day or Saver tickets.
"Saver/Cheap DaySo I decided to give up, and just concentrate of GroupSave because it sounds most promising. Then I come across the restriction bit which is slightly confusing, to me at least:
"The return portion of these tickets is restricted if you join a northbound train within area B and travel to area D. Also restricted, are journeys from area C with a return ticket valid for a journey from area B to area D as shown on the zone map above. Travel is unrestricted if you join a northbound train in area C or D and are not travelling on the return portion of a ticket valid from a station in area B to a station in area D. If your entire journey begins and ends within areas B and C on the map then the restrictions do not apply."
And then of course the rail service, isn't really related to the Metro+ Bus's operating in London, so another card, the oyster card, has to be bought for that. I say isn't really related, cos there ARE travelcards offered by certain rail services that allow discounts or free bus+metro rides. But we don't actually want to get into that, right?
Oh, and I haven't even started on how much we're counting on my little lonely planet "Paris Encounters" book to keep our hineys fed, watered, entertained and out of trouble.

Oxfords for Cambridge
A light kiss blown
Another pair of booties
I came across these socks in my sister's drawer.

Tigger socks!

Okay, back to figuring out the intricacies of the English transport system. If I have strength left over, I'll tackle the Parisian one too. (!!)
